The Big Thing
Court approves settlement between Diamond estate, Palik Group, and Sparkle Pop

A court has approved a settlement resolving the legal dispute between The Palik Group, Sparkle Pop, and the Diamond Comic Distributors estate, marking another step in the unwinding of the defunct distributor's obligations. The terms of the settlement were not disclosed in the court filing, but the approval removes one more friction point as the estate continues working through creditor claims and distribution agreements.

The Palik Group and Sparkle Pop are both smaller-scale distributors that stepped in to fill regional gaps after Diamond's collapse. Palik serves roughly 150 specialty retail accounts across the Midwest and Southeast, while Sparkle Pop focuses on pop-culture retailers and conventions. Both have carved out niches in a post-Diamond landscape now dominated by Lunar and Penguin Random House, but the bankruptcy left open questions about inventory transfers, payment obligations, and contractual responsibilities that required court intervention.

The settlement arrives weeks after Diamond's estate finalized separate agreements with Dark Horse, Vault, Dstlry, Oni, and Titan, clearing those publishers to move forward with new distribution arrangements. Industry observers note that while the big-publisher deals grabbed headlines, resolving disputes with distributors like Palik and Sparkle Pop is critical for smaller retailers who depend on those channels. The court approval suggests the estate is moving methodically through its remaining entanglements.

With this settlement behind them, both Palik and Sparkle Pop can focus on operational stability heading into the holiday quarter. For collectors, the practical effect is minimal in the short term, but a smoother distribution network means fewer shipment disruptions and better fulfillment consistency at local shops. The estate has not announced whether additional distributor settlements are pending, though legal filings hint at ongoing negotiations with at least two regional operators.

Why it matters: Distribution infrastructure shapes what reaches shelves and when. Clearing these legal tangles keeps smaller distributors solvent and reduces the risk of supply-chain chaos at independent shops, which remain the primary discovery channel for most collectors outside major metros.

DC extends Absolute Catwoman to 12 issues DC Comics announced that the Absolute Catwoman miniseries has been extended from its original run to 12 issues, continuing into 2027. The extension reflects strong early sales and critical reception for the Absolute Universe imprint, which has outperformed internal projections across multiple titles. The move follows similar expansions for Absolute Wonder Woman and Absolute Superman, signaling DC's confidence in the line as a long-term franchise pillar. Read at source (The Comics Beat) →

Green Mask #1 heads to auction Green Mask #1 from 1940, featuring a character reboot of the Fox Features hero, is coming to auction. The issue marks the debut of the second Green Mask, a masked vigilante with no superpowers who relied on disguise and detective work, positioning him as a counterpoint to the cape-and-tights archetype that dominated the era. Fox Features books from this period are scarce in high grade, making this auction a notable opportunity for Golden Age collectors focused on the publisher's lesser-known runs. Mystery Men Comics #2 hits the block Mystery Men Comics #2, featuring Lou Fine cover art and a Dick Briefer Rex Dexter story, is headed to auction. The 1939 Fox Features issue showcases Fine at the peak of his pre-war output, with a robot-battle cover that exemplifies the publisher's emphasis on pulp-inspired action over superhero tropes. Briefer's Rex Dexter strip, a science-fiction serial that predated his later Frankenstein work, adds a second layer of creator appeal for collectors tracking early industry talent. The Face Cream Proven to Boost Collagen by 28%*

If your skin feels dryer than it used to, it might not just be a dehydration issue. Here’s why: As skin ages, it loses collagen, elastin, hyaluronic acid, and barrier integrity—the density it needs to hold onto moisture. This thinner, weaker skin struggles to stay hydrated, no matter how much water you drink or moisturizer you apply.

Most creams just temporarily hydrate the skin’s surface, but OneSkin’s new OS-01 FACE RICH CREAM works differently—delivering deep hydration while rebuilding skin’s ability to retain moisture at the cellular level. Powered by a Dual-Phase Hydration System, it combines potent bioactive humectants with OneSkin’s proprietary OS-01 Peptide™ to fortify the skin barrier and replenish collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid. OS-01 FACE RICH CREAM is scientifically proven in lab studies to increase skin’s measured collagen by +28% and promote elastin production by +108%—for lasting hydration, visible firmness, and more resilient skin over time.*
